An interesting concept having to do with new media is interactivity. This is when receivers are able to engage with the senders. This can be done through online polls, chate lines, and even online focus groups or things such as facebook groups or messages. A great example of this is CNN. When they cover stories now they ask for you to interact with them using mediums such as Twitter. Its actually very interesting and many tv shows and using this as a way to get their viewers opinions and feedback.

Digital media will only continue to evolve, and we hope that it is in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteInteractive website monster such as Youtube has been implementing "interaction techniques" such as asking viewers to visit their ads, artists' websites, vote for polls, and post comments under the videos.
By having receivers be more engaging while receiving the content, the receiver will retain more detail about the message because they are being included in the end results.
Do you think that the new media designs risk the personal interaction that old snail mail contained?
I also believe that the new digital media actually powers companies that don't have the funds to be advertised; For instance, youtube and twitter make products be seen by millions of people globally without paying for advertisments on Tv.
I can agree that New Media is taking over because of all of the new technology that is forming. The newspaper isn’t being used very much anymore but I still around. The internet in the most medium used to obtain information. Internet social networking sites are popularizing and becoming the most popular way of keeping in contact with new and old friends. Unfortunately, I think the newspaper will eventually disappear and digital paper will be in use in replace of it. I think pretty soon everything will be technology driven and the things we see in futuristic movies will become a reality. Loll…
